Coming Home to our Wonderful Body
Friday 4th June 6pm to Monday 7th June 2pm
As we move into the Winter months our focus often naturally turns inward. This is a precious time for bringing attention to what is manifesting within us. We will also be invited to touch deeply the grounding energy of the wintering Earth.
On this retreat we will practice bringing awareness to the body and what it is telling us. We will be invited to listen deeply and develop acceptance of our body.
A spacious schedule of mindful yoga and yoga nidra, sitting, walking and eating meditation, working meditation and Dharma talks will support us to rest and enjoy our wonderful body.
About the Teachers:
Anton is a student of Thich Nhat Hanh and Sister Shalom. Since receiving the lamp from Thich Nhat Hanh in 2014, Anton has offered teaching and support, drawing on his long term practice and life experience. A founding guardian of Dharma Gaia, parent and enthusiastic gardener, Anton is deeply inspired to share this path of mindfulness practice in ways that are easily applied in daily life. Anton enjoys continuing to transform and grow his happiness with others.
Caitlin is a member of the Order of Interbeing and received the Lamp (Permission to Teach) in 2018. She became a student of the Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh in 1998, when a friend invited her to join a sangha (community of mindfulness practice) in Edinburgh, Scotland. Caitlin enjoys offering a wide range of practices, including Dharma sharing and deep relaxation. Caitlin’s interests include facilitation, communication and socially engaged practice.
Mindfulness is at the heart of Brendon's yoga practice and his teaching and he believes the purpose of yoga is to cultivate awareness and peace in daily life.
Brendon has experience teaching yoga in the community, on retreats, workshops and on yoga teacher training courses. Brendon is also a registered social worker and is always keen to share yoga where it is most needed. This has included integrating yoga into various health services, hospice and prison.
Hatha yoga includes static poses and flowing sequences for developing strength, flexibility and mobility. We will also practice pranayama, which awakens vitality through the power of the breath, balances the nervous system and prepares the body and mind for meditation.
This retreat will include Yoga Nidra, a deep relaxation practice to restore and harmonise body, mind and emotions.
The classes are suitable for all, regardless of your yoga experience.
Please plan your journey to Dharma Gaia with an awareness of time and allowing spaciousness. We invite you to practice travelling and arriving in mindfulness, knowing that this will support an easeful retreat for yourself and others. We suggest you arrive between 3-5pm and on arrival enjoy three mindful breaths. If it is your first time to the Centre, please make your way to the foyer where you will be greeted by one of our residents, who will give you a short tour of the Centre and your accommodation.
