MONTHLY DAYS OF MINDFULNESS
We are now extending an invitation to all to join us once a month for our public day of practice. These will tend to be on the fourth Sunday of each month. The first of these offerings waa on Sunday 25 February which was a deeply nourishing and fully supported event. Below are the dates for the year but we ask you to please check closer to the day as on occasion the dates will change.
places are limited - it is essential that you make a booking - email at least 5 days prior to check if there is space
This is a day for you to rest into a gentle practice schedule supported by the community and the beauty of Dharma Gaia.
The schedule will include:
The morning sitting from 6.30 to 7.15
Followed by silent breakfast at 7.45
And quiet time for contemplation until the morning programme begins at 9.30
lunch at about 1pm
Afternoon practice until 4pm.
Each month the day will also include a variation on the following:
Walking meditation
A Dharma talk
Deep relaxation
A gentle moving practice such as tai chi
And a sharing circle (called Dharma Sharing in our tradition).
You can arrive at 6.20am for morning meditation or at 9.15am ready to begin at 9.25am,. You are welcome to join for the whole day or just the morning. If you will attend for Sunday lunch we would also appreciate a booking so that we know how many to cater for.
There is an option to stay over on Saturday evening and sometimes we can offer a full weekend stay - please check to see if this option is available as it will not always be possible - There will be a cost for Accommodation and food. bookings are essential. This day of sharing in community practice is offered in the context of reciprocity and generosity. There is not set charge and we invite you to offer dana in gratitude. this can be offered via internet banking account: 03-0458-0238459-000 or into the dana bowl outside the meditation hall. Daily Morning Meditation
6:30AM–7.15 Am
Every day except 'Lazy Day' (usually Monday) we enjoy sitting and’or walking practice. Please email if you would like to join us and we ask that you.be seated by 6.25am. If you have not practiced before in the Plum Village tradition please contact the Guestmanster dharmagaia.org@gmail.com at least a few days before you intend to join the practice.
