The New Zealand Monastic Fund was established to offer financial support to Sister Shalom in her simple monastic life. The long term intention of this Fund is also to support others who join Sister Shalom in the monastic practice here in New Zealand.

Dharma Gaia is a beautiful Mindfulness Practice Centre nestled in the hills of the Coromandel peninsula of New Zealand. The New Zealand Sangha and those who visit the Centre are greatly supported by the strength of the monastic presence here.

Dana, the practice of generosity, is embodied in the monastic life. This way of life can only be sustained with the support of the lay community. Financial giving is just one part of this exchange.

A bank account has been set up in New Zealand under the name NZ Monastic Fund. This is the vehicle for financial assistance to Sister Shalom. Donations into this account contribute to the cost of Sister Shalom's basic living and travel expenses.

Since the time of the Buddha, the relationship between the Monastic and Lay Sangha has been an integral aspect of living a spiritual life.

The following Sangha members work with Sister Shalom and oversee the Fund, ensuring its use is put to best practice.
